Atlantic mounts media blitz to promote ABBA

ABBA On Stage, a one-hour Syndie TV special devoted to the internationally popular Swedish recording group, is airing on 200 U.S. stations this month as part of a media blitz for the act.

Concurrently, a radio special, The Story Of ABBA, is airing on more than 200 stations in North America as well as in many markets overseas. Special, which includes an interview and a wide selection of group’s music, has been pressed by Atlantic Records and serviced free of charge to participating stations.

Radio stations airing “The Story Of ABBA” are also receiving copies of a special promotion LP, ABBA: A Collection Of Hits. The 15-song album is being used for station giveaways and contests in conjunction with the special. A contest offering a free trip for two to Stockholm and a meeting with the group is part of the promotion for ABBA’s new LP, The Visitors. Transcribed for ABBA World
